Introduction
Author: Ph.D. Marcin Just (DiagNova Technologies)Due to the fact that some parameters (e.g. NHR, YG, U2H) directly measure the level of interference and distortion in the recorded signal, the influence of the recording conditions and the frequency response of the equipment will be obvious for such parameters. However, it is not clear how much impact this will be. In addition, distortions have a much more subtle meaning for determining the fundamental frequency and calculating parameters not related to noise with direct mathematical relationships (e.g. jitter). In order to gradually learn about the phenomena related to the recording process, the tests are arranged in a sequence that allows for the gradual introduction of the examined factors:
- Synthetic tests involving the analysis of digitally prepared recordings - allow for the complete exclusion of the influence of equipment,
- Equipment "low-level" tests - frequency response, dynamics - to get to know the tested equipment in detail,
- Practical tests of the impact of recording conditions - to determine the optimal recording method for each hardware configuration,
- Practical tests with patients - final verification of results and determination of equipment requirements.
